Re: Supplements - fish oils, vitamins etc

I am very allergic anyway to a lot of creams and soaps. One of the best hydrating creams I know is good old Aqueous Cream which contains very little in the way of additives and no perfumes etc. It's about £2 a lb in the UK (where I get it). For shower gel Sanex Hypo is again dirt cheap and pretty mu...

Re: Flu Vaccinations

Thanks Goldenoldie. I do take your point about the meds but as I'm on (prescribed) Ixprime for the pain in my legs, the paracetamol in it seems to be warding off the cold for the moment (digits firmly crossed). I bought a fancy digital thermometer which I've been using three times a day anyway just ...

Re: Flu Vaccinations

I will indeed ask. I have never had any reaction to the jabs in the past but it suddenly occured to me that I might now. My o/h is about to get his (he is in an at risk group) thus my question.

It feels like I'm about to get a cold now anyway so I'm going to dive under the covers shortly.

Re: "Ganglions"

different for everyone This does seem to be the key! In my case they are definately in my stomach as my gynae surgeon needs to co-ordinate with the gastro' guy before they can operate as they have to do it together! She also told me that the chemo may well deal with them anyway which is why I think...

Re: Cold Caps

I think mugshots could work. Sometimes it's reassuring to see how everybody else has turned out! Yesterday in the oncology ward it was quite good to be amongst people using various forms of disguise etc and comparing how successful they all are. I also passed on a catalogue from a UK website of UK c...

I hope I'm OK to do this on here. I thought maybe other users might be interested to see how good some of the wigs can be (no comments about the face underneath, please!) I'm delighted with mine which was fitted today: http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q103/cooperlola/DSC_9965.jpg All covered by CP...

Re: Cold Caps

Thanks so much Biggles. Like so many things, the more one discusses this stuff the less scary it gets. My erstwhile neighbour and I are on the same chemo so in the end I rang the hospital and said I would give it a go. If it's really cr*p then I can always stop the thing. Today's hair cut was far le...

"Ganglions"

Me again . Still confused about which subjects go on which boards. I start my chemo on Thursday for the ovarian cancer but my surgeon also tells me I have stomach "ganglions" which she will operate to remove after the chemo is over. I think I understand what these amount to but even...
