Pyrénées-Orientales (66) Hospital services

Postby pennycsf » Thu Oct 21, 2010 10:55 am

The following hospitals are accredited by INCa to provide cancer treatment, BUT be advised that for some specialist treatment patients may or will be referred to one of the hospitals in Montpellier or, more rarely, Toulouse.

These hospitals do seem to work together, as well as in consultation with the Montpellier hospitals. It appears that they have case conferences by way of SKYPE or other on line media.

Surgeons and anaethetists who speak English are listed at the end as they may work out of more than one hospital.

This is a copy of a post posted Sat Feb 05, 2011 11:33 am by goldenoldie in Links which is equally relevant here.

"Can I add a personal reccommendation to the Hospital St Jean at Perpignan? I have had/am - since May last year -having my cancer/chemo treatment there..haemotologie is right next door in the main hospital....FIVE STAR treatment by nurses and consultants..they always explain everything to you (even stuff you heard the last time!) and are ALWAYS ready to do anything for you. You also get a "livret" of your treatment which is filled in every time!
Consultations are in the Centre Henri Pujol.

I have been going there for the past six years, since diagnosed and cannot fault it or its treatment. :D"

It looks as if they, at least have made good progress with applying the 'Plan Cancer'!

Have to agree with the others...I have been going to the Hospital at Perpignan for seven years and got SIX star treatment. They always have time for you, never in a rush, answer all you little worries and explain everything...and I mean everything you need to know.
They work very closely with the special haemo. unit at Montpellier (spend some time there working too) before, during and after your treatment and are always on hand if you need them.
They all work under the "Centre of Excellence" doctrine and you certainly profit from the results.
Top marks for all departments :D
