Nausea with Chemo

Postby goldenoldie » Thu Feb 11, 2010 3:19 pm

Not sure if this is a help to anyone but my neighbour this morning, who has just finished his chemo, told me that he found that when he felt nausea even with the anti drugs he was given, that drinking ginger ale helped him. I have yet to found out for myself as I am still in the "wait and see" phase for chemo.

Having gone thru 4 different chemo treatments in 3 years, the one thing that worked for me and I was also advised by the nurses to always have some on hand, was Coca Cola and it really works. John

Hi Fredsell...glad you found something that worked for you. I, unfortunately do not normally enjoy fizzy drinks, but having had three doses of chemo now, I find I really enjoy a drink called 7UP..seems to be the only thing that will cut through that metal taste. I guess the answer is in the fizz! (pity its not champagne eh?)
