Hi Lisa...so glad your visit to the hospital lived up to OUR expectations of what reception we thought you should get. I do hope things will prove positive when you go back. If its not divulging too much, could you let us know which hospital you went to as it may give others some reassurance if they have to go there too. Interesting too that your problem would not have shown up on a mammogram -when most of us have got used to using our routine checks as a guide. It will be something I shall query when I go next....even though my cancer is lymphatic rather than breast.
good luck anyway and please keep us in the loop :D

I went to the Villefranche de Rouergue hospital and will be going to Rodez for the radiation therapy as they have all the equipment for this region. I cannot praise the hospital and all the staff enough for how I was treated. I was also surprised when the doctor mentioned that the lump was picked up only with the sonar scan - maybe the location on the breast( the lump was very high and from what I can gather deep) and maybe this and the fact that I'm small breasted are at play here!  at least here in france you have the scan as well as the mammogram :)

Interesting! When I was diagnosed many years ago, they picked up a lump on the mammo and then two more on the ultrasound, as you say, because they were deep.

Goooooooood to be in France! And so pleased things are going well, Lisa ;)

Hi everyone - tomorrow I have my last radiation session! :D :D it has passed very easily with only a slight discomfort now and then - so bring on the tamoxifen I'm all ready for it!

Thank you for the amazing support and encouragement I hope to be able to help someone one day like you've all helped me. xxx

hi Lisa...SOOOOO pleased your treatment went well and that you are so optimistic about the future. It pays to be positive and just remember that if at any time you have any worries -no matter how small - to go back to your doctor or straight to your oncologist.
I went to see my new specialist a couple of weeks ago for the first time and "just" mentioned that I was still sweating and feeling tired but he told me that even though I had finished my treatment in 2013, the effects would still be felt now although they would diminish. It was just a little worry but I feel so much better for the reply.
Good luck for the future :) :)

Great news, Lisa. I am so pleased for you.

You can help us here by keeping an eye on the forum even after your treatment is over (maybe subscribe to this forum so that you get an automatic e-mail when there are any posts), as others may post a query that you can help with from your experience. And do keep in touch as treatment progresses, good stories are a huge boost for those starting the journey.

Have a wonderful summer!!

Penny
