Proton Beam therapy comes to UK

Post by pennycsf » Sat Jan 06, 2018 2:49 pm

This interesting article reveals that high tech proton beam therapy is now available in Manchester. Until now people needing this were being sent to Switzerland and the USA. You will be relieved to learn that this treatment has been available in France at the Institut Curie in Paris since 1990 and also from 1991 in Nice. The former's website indicates that research and development is ongoing with new cancers being treated in this way to minimise side effects, especially in children - always nice to know!
