Costs for hospital stay

Post by karinu » Tue Jan 12, 2016 7:34 pm

We had contact from a client about a daily charge for hospital room etc which they have to pay
although on 100%.

I have not heard of this, usually all costs are covered.
Checked on ameli website which also confirms (if I understand correctly) that all hospital charges
Are covered by the ALD.

Some advice please!

Hello,

If I understand you correctly, your client is being asked to pay the "daily charge". This is payable by everyone regardless of whether they are ALD or not. This charge may be covered by the client's mutuelle, if they have one.

Here is an extract from "Cancer and Welfare Services" the English translation of "Demarches Sociales":

Daily charge for hospital stay
When you are in hospital, care related to your long-term illness is covered at
100% with the exception of le forfait hospitalier (daily charge for hospital stay),
which is essentially a contribution towards your board and lodging.

You can find the full (rather long) booklet in the Translated Docs section of the Forum.

And here is the ink to the relevant section of the Ameli website:

Hope that helps!
